CONAN: Fisher, Bounty Hunter, Teknetics, and Titan are all made by the parent company, 1st Texas. ALL of these companies used to be their own manufacturers of their own detectors. Bounty Hunter which was originally made by PNI in Washington State, Fishers were made (by) Fisher in Plano, California until about 1995, Teknetics detectors were designed by George Payne (now retired) and Dave Johnson, the man who invented discrimination and VLF in the mid 70's and also worked with George Payne on developing the multi-tone target i.d. sound then the i.d. screen detectors in the late 80s. George Payne also founded Bounty Hunter in 1971. He also designed the Treasure Baron brand which was short-lived from the late 80s to the late Titan was founded solely by First Texas.
