Mike Stamper: Hello, everybody! There's a new comparison between these two, with centered mono tracks as some people have asked about that in terms of a better representation of the real pickup sound. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/FAGoy3oDzXs

Thanks for your comments and support! :D

Joona Sintonen: I somehow hear alot more backround crap on the blackouts but they are way more punchy

Zombie Mosher: For distortion the Blackout was best but clean surprisingly the EMG was better, I have an 81 & not that keen on it clean. Was surprised because I have an 18V classic in a guitar by SD & it rules for clean.

huyer122: AHB sounds more clearly and punchy for metal songs

Imran Atheist Former-Muslim: Emg was nice. Blackouts caused an explosion in my trousers. Need to change now

이승민: EMG all the way. SD is the best passive pickups manufacturer.

Frederick Love: Wut?! who'd of thought the Blackout would sound better distorted yet the EMG better clean. Interesting.

junk face: for the cleans I think everyone will say SD, when it comes to hi gain then its taste and preference

Marc see: there is something very nasal to the 81s. maybe can be filtered out but Blackouts are better

Eric Valverde: Blackouts are loudaaaahhh :V

Massimo Cavalieri d'Oro: what song at 1:30 please?

jdssurf: Amp?

Adovock: I'm listening to these using DT 990 PRO 250 OHM headphones with no personal bias either way, and these two pick-ups sound exactly the same.

paul otis: seymour duncan blackout is stiill the best it sound deep

metaldude198: I prefer the EMG 81. The Blackouts give you more highs and more lows. But the EMG is tweaked perfectly for MIDS. For metal I think MIDS are what you want to cut through the mix.

Jeff Arab: Seymour Duncan's are way better and have a good tone on my bc rich revenge

Dudeman_ 2151: does anyone else think that the 81s have more of a crunch sound?

sav13579: emg has more clarity

WOOLgum: I love playing my ESP Eclipse with SD's. But every time I switch to my other ESP Eclipse with EMG's I always think "wow!"
I play black metal, death metal and old zombie/horror films music.

tanshaomala: Blackouts for clean, EMGs for distorted. The way the two pickups differ is almost like Marshall vs Mesa, one being more midrange heavy the other being more bottom end heavy and scooped.
