Rangersly: Beautiful knife with an interesting traditional look.

Justin Evans: Japanese Damascus is odd number of layers because there is a center layer of steel with Damascus on either side, 15 layer is 7-1-7 for 15 layers

DefMunkyYT: I think they count the core steel as a "layer" in the damascus, hence the odd number of layers. Typically with the Japanese clad (San Mai) knives there is a softer iron or stainless steel sandwiching the harder core steel (carbon or stainless). I think they make the damascus first, fashion it into a U shape and put the core steel billet in the middle, then hammer the whole thing into one solid piece. If I remember right this method is warikomi. They might also put a damascus billet on either side of the core steel billet and do the same thing. I don't remember the Japanese name for that type but you can actually see the lamination lines in the spine of the knife if done this way.

I also think that Kanetsune knives are hand made as well. Handmade as in forged, ground, EVERYTHING by hand in their shop, not just stock removal like many other handmade knife companies. In that light, $160 or so bucks is a steal for an absolutely beautiful piece of functional art.

Chiinnature: Man! this is the 2nd time I click this video and this time I just realized it's YOU the fruit ninja guy!  DAMN!  You look so different here!  Sexy blade, made me came back again!

OspreyBravo18: I saw a comment stating that someone broke to many Damascus knives to get another.... that's because they were meant for superior sharpness not strength in the piece I read about the history of Damascus weapons it claimed that they could make them so sharp that they could cut a light silk scarf in two in mid air.... great kitchen or game knives not survival knives

WeAllJuggleKnives: Thank you, much appreciated!

LokuKina: Damascus blades are indeed VERY beautiful. However, I have broken too many to get another. That is indeed yet another beautiful knife. Keep up the videos. I love the sheath of this one. Bamboo is strong, durable and has more uses than a wife.

onii-chan 69xD: beautiful knife man im gonna have to get one one day

WeAllJuggleKnives: Thanks!

LuckyB: its a limited blade , it has a Iron sleeve with a Carbon Edge , nothing wrong with that

Krauser II: open your eyes man, you can definitly see the layers in the grey part.

Man Aman: carbon Steel Handmade Forged Damascus Hunting Fixed Knife H--Bamboo (search it on ebay)(costs about 26 dollars) what about this knife? is it a good knife for its price?

KnygnešyS: sick knife cool

Natsilani Luca: its damascus, but japanese knives and swords tend not to be made up of many layers

David Reid: Simply because you can't see a pattern, doesn't mean it isn't damascus. Considering most of the knife has the slag, it would be very tricky to notice. Also, unless they etched the knife, only close inspection would present the distinct pattern. Although it isn't hard to see the different layers, even in the video.

hashikill: look at 2:35 you can clearly see the damascus

Baphore: You can see damascus pattern at 2:00+ and just so you know pattern reveals only after acid bath, open the video in high quality full screen to see the pattern.

WeAllJuggleKnives: As if I personally determine what Kanetsune refers to as Damascus or not ...

Bisera G.: I can not see Damascus pattern?! Is it just me or you do not know how Damascus look like?

AndyQ: Nick mentions never using the pads on his controllers for drum triggering 'cos they're a pain to configure. Does anyone make a controller with a row of pads that have a knob above each for defining the MIDI channel & note? That'd be much nicer then stuffing around with menus or software.
